The Electric Starlight Space Animals
A biography:
Rainbow Jimmy was born during the full moon in a raging thunderstorm on the planet Zanthur, three thousand years ago. This explains his supernatural powers. Steve was the seventh son of shaman priestess, born on the seventh hour, of the seventh day, of the seventh month. His name means "He who walks the precipice with his head in the clouds thinking about young women".
They spent most of their first millenium playing for drunken tourists in Giza, while supervising the construction of the pyramids. This is when they met the legendary Jonathon Richman who compared them to early Rolling Stones. This was also the time when Coyotes and Let's Go See the Pope were written, as well as Wired and Get Down to the Getting Downs. None of these have been recorded on a Space Animals CD yet-who knows why.
The Space Animals went on a sabatical for the next 500 years so they could work on side projects. Jimmy played in two jug bands: the Coyote Brothers with the infamous Craigo Afterburner and Frank Lee Scarlett and the I Don't Give a Damns. A feud with Frank Lee threatened the solar system with nuclear annihilation.
Steve moved to the planet Flagstaff where he invented reggae and dub. He did not however buy the sacred Mutron Bi Phase-a mistake that has plagued him most of his life. He did however buy a wicked cool Gibson RD.
The prophet Zarkoff suggested Steve and Jimmy reunite. The rest is history. 5 time Grammy winners, winner of every country-western award in the Galaxy and two hundred world tours later, the Electric Starlight Space Animals are still the hottest band this side of Alpha Cenchula. Home
